Account Manager

The Opportunity
 
To profitably develop and grow the company’s EVS BV’s (EVS NL) business through the continued development of newly won and existing vendor and dealer relationships, global key accounts and key customers. To meet the sales targets set by EVS NL and to maximise the return derived from the portfolio generated. To contribute to the analysis of economic trends, industry statistics and sector information in order to advise the senior management team on new product/market opportunities within the focus markets.
 
The Role
 
It is expected that in discharging the accountabilities described below the post holder will consult with and gain the support of the key stakeholders, in particular:

In carrying out the responsibilities of the role, the post holder will work with (or have significant contact with):

The post holder is directly accountable for the following outputs:
 
Account Management
 
  • To manage assigned (prospect or existing) vendor relationships and to develop incremental business opportunities in line with objectives set by senior management from time to time.
  • To fully use and utilise salesforce.com to manage activity, contact strategy and relationships
  • To achieve agreed sales targets in terms of volume, margin and sundry income.
  • To visit named vendors, dealers and end user customers within an agree contact strategy to review performance, build business plans, establish and resolve issues and put in place improvement plans.
  • To build and submit credit applications for (large value) proposals in the agreed format.
  • To act as the initial point of contact for named vendors, dealers and end customers when dealing with queries, pricing and proposals.
  • To review declined proposals or conditional acceptance received from Credit Risk when have been originated from named vendors, dealers and end customers and assess the response to determine if an appeal is appropriate. To enhance any credit proposal that is deemed worthy of appeal and to represent that proposal in a professional manner.
  • To work closely with assigned Operations sales support people assisting with issues where appropriate and taking responsibility for the training and development of that individual(s) as required.
  • To work within the defined sales process and methodology and to both streamline activities and ensure maximum return.
  • To maintain regular contact with the senior management team appraising them of any potential issues or problems.
  • To attend internal meetings and provide visit reports on prospecting activity and servicing activity when required to do so.
  • To work closely with the Credit risk department when issues arise on customers’ accounts either in terms of fraudulent activity on the account or payment/rescheduling issues.
  • To work with the group companies across the group company to identify and capitalise upon any synergy opportunities that present themselves.
  • To operate within agreed budgets and achieve agreed financial targets within EVS.
  • To work with colleagues across the business to deliver the goal of increased profitability for the business unit whilst maintaining a focus on total customer service.
  • To comply with the policies and procedures of the group company and EVS NL.
  • To be fully aware of and to carry out such actions as are required to meet the requirements of the company’s Corporate Governance framework including attendance at any relevant committee meetings.
  • To be involved with any other ad-hoc projects as may be required from time to time.
 
Other
 
  • To undertake any other duties as specified from time to time in accordance with EVS NL business requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and specifically that which relates to Data Protection, Money Laundering and Treating the Customer Fairly (‘TCF’) and attend update training as may be required from time to time.
  • Carrying out and be fully aware of actions as are required to meet the requirements of the company’s Corporate Governance framework including attendance at any relevant management and committee meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements by ensuring ongoing compliance with the following objectives:
    • controls in their processes are effective to manage risks (in conjunction with Financial Control)
    • processes are operating as mapped
    • departmental staff are aware of their responsibilities and operate in line with the Group standard
    • provide assistance to financial control in the performing of any testing
    • exceptions are noted and appropriate remedial action taken
    • any changes to process/systems have been approved in line with Group policy/procedure
 
The Candidate
 
Essentials:
 
  • Ideally a post-secondary education in Business or equivalent experience
  • Must have a track record in sales in a Vendor Finance environment. (5 – 10 years)
  • Proven sales, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Detailed understanding of financial products, including Operating lease, Hire Purchase, Finance lease
  • Detailed understanding of financial accounts to appeal if necessary any credit declines
  • Thorough knowledge of current marketplace trends and activities
  • A risk taker and problem solver who can build relationships and leverage energy and spirit to create a winning solution
  • A “need to win” attitude and the ability to persevere to see the process through to completion
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Superior interpersonal and communication (written & verbal) skills in Dutch and English. French and/ or German language skills is a plus.
