The Head of Banking and Compliance will manage all key BaaS partnerships with Banks, Financial Institutions and Fintechs supporting their fully functional current account product suite. This includes effectively ensuring these product features remain compliant with the CBOI regulatory requirements. The role holder will be hands-on, intuitive, energetic, and forward thinking.
Responsible for the strategic growth and on-going management of the company’s Banking and FI relationships, developing and maximising those relationships to deliver real growth across partnership propositions and overall capability.
Proactively hunt for new opportunities using external contacts and utilise own network to ensure the company is considered in all relevant partnership opportunities.
Create account development plans in collaboration with banks and FI’s to maximise benefits for our customers, our business, and our partners.
Review future product features and functionality, providing input during the planning phase, to ensure they align with current and proposed compliance legislation and regulatory requirements
Act as the engagement manager on key payments, digital and compliance projects, providing guidance and industry insight and have responsibility for the quality of work, project planning and profit associated with the assignments internally and for our accounts.
Develop processes and procedures to consistently deliver high quality output on time
Provide updates to internal stakeholders on progress towards key development deliverables.
Provide regulatory advice relating to regulatory requirements and new business initiatives
Ensure compliance with existing/new regulations and knowledge of relevant EU regulations
Have a deep understanding of your numbers, and use data to drive the decisions you make and inform and influence our stakeholders
Identify opportunities and propose changes to contracts depending on product performance and negotiated fees
A passion for fintech, and scaling in a high growth environment
Deep understanding of the complex EU payments eco system
Expertise in domestic/faster payments, Card Schemes and EMI licensing is an absolute must.
Proven track record of building successful relationships with Banks and Financial Institutions.
Understanding of industry and regulatory best practice. Awareness of relevant technology solutions that support effective operations and product compliance
Thorough understanding of key issues facing the European Payments and Financial Services sector, including regulation, such as PSD2, industry trends, technology innovation, and market and competitor activity.
Entrepreneurial attitude to developing new client-facing propositions and engaging clients in new areas of discussion
You have worked within banking or financial services previously so understand the regulatory landscape.
You have worked in a progressive Tech business previously.

Strong understanding and prior experience building fintech payment products in merchant acquiring, payment gateways - card present and card not present, direct debit and alternative payment methods in our primary markets across Europe
