Role: Head of Finance
Salary: €130,000 DOE plus package
Location: Ireland
 
 
We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Finance, to join one of our clients - a leading Global Payment Service Provider. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a hugely successful brand as they launch their new highly anticipated European business. The role holder will be hands-on, intuitive, energetic, and forward thinking.
 
The Head of Finance will have overall responsibility for the development, delivery, and performance of the Finance function . Working closely with the Managing Director and SLT you will be a key influencer to strategic decision making. You will be given autonomy over the creation, development and running of the finance function within a start-up environment
 
Responsibilities
 
Create the finance department including accounting and financial control, financial planning & analysis, regulatory reporting, and tax functions as well as our financial data infrastructure teams
Educate, coach, and support internal and external customers in support of business growth
Oversee the production of management accounts including portfolio analysis and analysis of underlying profitability
Driving the periodic company-wide budgeting process and establishing annual financial Company goals that align with the plans for growth and expansion
Control of the business timing, content, process, target development, strategic planning, annual budget and regular forecasting.
Provide management information: performance measurement, reporting and analysis.
Clearly communicate performance of the business, drivers, opportunities, and risks
Profit improvement: mitigation of risks and maximisation of opportunities
Leader of change driving system/process improvements and automation
Owner of the financial accounts and tax: completeness, accuracy, and compliance
Responsible for the corporate governance framework and financial decision making
Cash forecasting and management
Create and develop the finance team
Manage external relations: accountants, banks, auditors, funding institutions
Involved with key customer and supplier meetings/relationships​
 
The Candidate


Highly experienced of leading and scaling in a high growth environment with a financial technology company
Proven ability to solve complex financial and operational issues by building simple processes
Proven CBI reporting.
Familiar working with a CBI regulated business
Positive attitude: 'Can do' approach and willing to give everything a go from manual processing to larger projects
Excellent organisation skills: ability to plan and organise work so that it is efficient and effective
Ability and drive to identify and use modern (online) solutions to ensure a maximum degree of automation replacing manual human interaction wherever possible
Experience with new territory expansion
Experience with establishing corporate finance across multiple jurisdictions
Good understanding of multi-jurisdictional finance compliance
Must be a self-driven problem solver, with the ability to work towards achieving overarching commercial goals with minimal direction. We are looking for a doer, not a talker and above all else, we need a team player who wants to be part of a fast growing startup
Proven track record of building successful Finance/Accounts frameworks from the ground up, ideally in current role
Must have excellent communication and high-level presentation skills.
Must be a logical thinker with the ability to challenge business models, strategies and the “status quo”
Must be solutions orientated with the ability to turn problems into opportunities.
Must have strong commercial acumen and well-developed financial awareness
