Partnerships Director

The Opportunity
Our client is a global leader in payments processing, providing cutting-edge payments and software solutions  for a wide range of merchants. They operate in over 30 different countries and have a global turnover of over $4bn and in the last four years - seen their share price rise by over five times!
The Role
The Partnerships Director will manage all key Tier 1 Banking Partnerships and create and define the Partnerships strategy with a primary focus on generating new partner revenue through partner account management.
Deliver on financial contribution commitments and business KPIs. Have a deep understanding of your numbers, and use data to drive the decisions you make and inform and influence our stakeholders
Own partner governance, financial reporting and KPI performance internally, externally and jointly with executives and stakeholders across the business and FI partners
Lead the most important, complex, and difficult negotiations and meetings with FI partners to pursue business opportunities and protect the business interests
Establish significant relationships within FI partners, with key decision-makers and stakeholders across a multitude of bank divisions and structures
Become a trusted advisor to our Banking Partners, across multiple business domains, by deeply learning their business and culture and aligning our payment solutions and business operation to the needs of their clients
Create bank implementation, engagement, and education programmes to drive endorsements and adoption across all divisions in FI partners
For FI partners with a global footprint, collaborate and lead regional partnership teams (embedded within our regional businesses) to support centralised partner management efforts
Partner with different groups in our organisation; sales (UK and international), customer success, marketing, product, compliance, operations and the Exec team to drive internal focus and strategy endorsement for our FI partnerships. Be the external voice for our FI partners within the business 
With all this in mind, we need an experienced individual to lead our clients Bank and FI partner channel, in particular a multi-national tier one bank that they partnered with for many years. You can expect high levels of autonomy and freedom to make your mark and at the same time get support from local and global stakeholders.
The Candidate

10+ years of payments, strategic partnerships, business development & commercial sales experience. Great knowledge of the payments industry and/or a strong technical background
Experience working for, or partnering with tier-one multinational banks
Ability to engage and influence executives and stakeholders in large, complex, matrix organisations, and deliver results through internal and external virtual teams

Ability to work independently within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to stakeholders and to juggle multiple initiatives at once

Exceptional written and oral communication skills, exceptional interpersonal skills and industry presence/gravitas and the proven ability to listen, understand, influence and inspire
You are a data-driven decision-maker with well-developed business and financial management skills
Significant experience with strategic planning and strategy execution
Expertise in contracting, negotiating, and change management
Experience with structuring sales goals and revenue expectations
Extraordinary interpersonal, organisational, and verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Passionate about the company, and the role of partnerships in realising our vision
