The Opportunity
 
Our Clients Payments Consultancy team has an enviable client portfolio across an array of industries and has positioned themselves as trusted advisors for merchants with complex payments requirements. Their European team is made up of client facing payments experts who are also skilled relationship managers, delivering projects which have generated savings of up to six/seven figure sums. This has made a significant contribution to expand their European offering, growing the consultancy team is essential to this success.
 
 
 
The Role
 
 
We are looking for a skilled client facing Project Manager with a natural entrepreneurial flair. The successful candidate will become a key member of the European consultancy team managing client projects and relationships across a portfolio of European merchants, working to review and optimise their payments arrangements. A successful European payments consultant will make significant contribution to company revenue and profit – they are growing to become the payments consultancy of choice for international merchants and they are looking for the very best people to join us on this journey.
 
Managing and driving current and new income opportunities through a client portfolio of 10-15 clients in-line with agreed targets
Leading client projects from successful sale through to completion of project and collection of relevant fees
Initial 6 months will be spent learning the role of the project delivery team, understanding the complex data analysis, as well as shadowing senior consultants.
All client projects require consultants to be responsible for:
Overseeing and critiquing all qualitative and quantitative analysis
Preparing professional presentations and present findings to clients
Negotiating directly with suppliers
Preparing any tender or contractual documentation required to support the project
Calculating any fees due arising from the project and ensure accuracy of invoices raised
Effectively managing all client communication throughout the project
Targeting opportunities for cross sales
Sharing project learnings with the wider team
Becoming the product expert on all matters concerning the payments market
Working effectively and collaboratively across departments including analysts, consultants, and the economics teams
Attending relevant seminars, conferences, and webinars (where required), networking with key decision makers in the payments industry

 
The Candidate

Minimum 2 years of commercial client facing experience in a Project Manager, Consultant or Relationship Manager role
Educated to degree level with a minimum 2:1 (preferably a Maths, Economics or Business-related degree)
Minimum 2 years of commercial client facing experience in a Consultant, Project Management or Relationship Manager role
Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
Excellent ability to persuade and negotiate
Strong organisational skills, able to manage and prioritise multiple tasks at any one time
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Performance focused with a desire to succeed and make a difference
Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to self-manage
Strong competency in Microsoft Excel and other major Microsoft Office programs
Flexibility to travel on weekly basis
