The Role
 
The International Partnerships Director role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced cards and payments professional to own and work on interesting, varied and challenging engagements for top-tier clients.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Management and delivery of consulting assignments for clients, often as part of small project teams, but sometimes as the primary delivery consultant
  • Supporting the practice business development efforts through targeted marketing campaigns, industry relationship building, warm- and cold-calling efforts, proposal and client presentation development
  • Leading meetings with and presentations to clients and external industry players to develop new business, build relationships, provide exposure for the company, and keep up with industry trends
  • Lead efforts to increase European and International opportunities
  • Lead, create and implement the practice’s strategy to meet evolving requirements and industry needs
  • Development and dissemination of industry thought leadership relevant to the partnerships space in particular, and the company in general
  • Development of high quality, strategically focused deliverables that deliver on client needs
  • Managing and mentoring the company’s International Partnerships Team
 
The Candidate
 
The International Partnerships Director should possess the following characteristics:
  • Deep subject matter expertise in the payments industry, with substantial knowledge of credit cards and experience in the Co-Brand / Affinity card market
  • A strong general understanding of the Cards and Payments industry as a whole
  • Analytical capabilities and an ability to quantify and communicate financial scenarios
  • Creativity and flexibility in developing and delivering solutions that add value to clients
  • Experience in developing new business opportunities
  • The ability to think strategically and deliver tactically
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience / knowledge of the retail sector preferred but not required
  • Experience in negotiating partnerships, contracts and/or other relevant transactions
  • A collaborative, team-oriented work style with a hands-on approach
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritize, delivering or managing several projects at a time
  • Experience in working with senior-level clients and stakeholders
  • A strong work ethic, energy and enthusiasm
  • Relationships within the Cards and Payments industry
