After 50 years Roger is acknowledged as an industry expert in the payments industry having represented Barclays, Elavon and the UK on numerous card scheme advisory groups around the world during his Executive career. Originally, he worked at Barclays as a computer programmer before transferring to Barclaycard where he worked in a variety of roles for over 20 years. He was a Director of Barclaycard and MD of Barclays’ Emerging Markets Group (EMG) for the last 6 years and responsible for many groundbreaking developments in the early stages of the internet, smart cards and security. Roger left Barclays in 2000 and after a short period as a Partner with Edgar Dunn, an American Consultancy, he joined Switch (the UK’s Debit Card scheme) as their CEO. Subsequently, he joined Elavon (aka Euroconnex) as President and CEO of Europe with a remit to consolidate the multiple acquisitions which had just taken place. In 2008 he was recognised by the Industry when he was awarded the ‘Cards Personality of the Year’ at the UK Card Awards. Roger has enjoyed a successful portfolio career since leaving Barclaycard having held NED roles on Boards on both sides of the Atlantic and across Europe. They have included Public and Privately held businesses as well as start-ups. He frequently chairs and speaks at Industry Conferences around the world and continues to be active with all areas of the media. Roger also acts as a mentor and is the Chair of Judges for the Card and Payments Awards (TCPA). Currently the portfolio includes the Pennies’ Payments Advisory Board, Tarci and Chargebacks 911.
Adrian, holds 34 Years of Financial Services and Banking experience, covering start ups, through established corporations. Before joining the Executive Management Board of Axactor and Nagelmackers, Adrian spent 10 years as Managing Director at Deutsche Bank where he was responsible for their Global Collections, NPL debt sale and recoveries business. Before this, he had tenures with several large financial institutions including Barclaycard and Citibank. At Barclaycard he was a member of the U.K. Credit Cards Exco, whilst at Citibank he was responsible for multiple sales verticals. More recently, Adrian’s path developed into specialist recruitment where he utilizes his network and experience to find suitable candidates across several specialist areas. A skilled Managing/Sales Director with more than 35 years’ experience in the Financial Services sector including Senior Management and Directorship positions in the Finance, Banking and Retail Sales trades. Bill Has been responsible for the setting up and running of successful Consumer Finance/Insurance/Debt Management Companies. His roles include Country Director of Western Union UK & Ireland, annual turnover in excess of £2.3bn., managing an Agent network in excess of 12,000 locations. Prior to that was CEO and Regional Director for Sigue Global Services covering UK, Ireland and Scandinavia. In early career he worked in the Card sector as Head of Sales for GE Capital CGF providing Store Card solution to the UK retail sector, with Clients such as Dixons/Currys, House of Fraser, Harrods etc. Also recently worked as MD for a Global Money Transfer business based in China, which was looking to establish a presence in the UK. The business also had operations in the U.S. and Brazil. Worked closely with the FCA to take the business through the licencing approval process. Recruited senior employees for the business which included initiating and managing the sponsorship process for non-UK nationals. Recent roles include Head of Commercial and Retail Product for a niche Mayfair based Bank and also most recently working on a part time advisory basis with start-up businesses in the money transfer sector.
Richard (Dicky) Davies has over 35 years’ experience in Financial Services. He started his career with periods working as a Strategy Consultant with the LEK Partnership and Merchant Banking with BZW, followed by a career in Finance/Business Development with Barclaycard (in the UK and overseas, and with the Barclaycard/Nomura JV ShopSmart), Visa Europe and the PE backed Lowell Group based in Leeds/Weybridge. In 2017 he retired from Executive responsibilities with Lowell, where he was Business Development Director for over 7 years, to take up some Non-Executive roles and spend more time with his family. He took up a couple of NED positions (specialist recruitment firm TPN Recruitment where he is now Chair, and credit management company Qualco UK) before being enticed back to executive responsibilities through being one of the founders of Tower Street Finance, the pioneer in Probate Lending in the UK, in 2019. He left Tower Street in April 2023 and took on another NED role at Property Solutions Group, the specialist Probate property management company in January 2024.
